About Wheels
“wheels” needs a new home
we picked up wheels from sally at happy paws haven in april 2008. Since then he has been living at cabarita beach and enjoying the beach lifestyle - lots of running on the beach, interacting with the local dogs and other people in the community. Wheels is a 20 month old black and tan kelpie / australian cattle dog cross. He is very well trained and has been looked after extremely well. He is happy, is non-aggressive and loves people of all ages. We don’t really want to give him up, but unfortunately our work / living situation has changed and we are unable to look after him any longer. Wheels needs to have people or another dog (or dogs) around most of the day. Ideally, his new home / family would need a reasonable size block of land or farm, or close to parks / beaches, and need running once or twice a day to wear him out. Preferably, the new home would already have a good dog, or, someone at home most of the day, every day. He is great with kids. If he is left at home by himself for long periods, he gets very lonely and stressed and will dig holes, bark and become a nuisance. He can be left by himself for short periods each day (with a bone or stick to chew). He travels very well in the car (as long as he has had some exercise) and sleeps most of the day if someone is at home. He loves playing with a ball and is an incredible catcher and chaser. He’s had training, all his shots, and is even covered by bark busters for his whole life if any behavioural problems occur. He has been de-sexed and is microchipped and registered. He is extremely fit and healthy. I believe he could be easily trained for agility classes or farm work as he loves running, is very fast and can chase and jump extremely well. We feel terrible about giving him up as he is our first dog and is so friendly and happy. Please, if you are able, take him in. He is a great companion will bring you lots of joy
