About Mickey
Mickey here has been in foster care for over a year waiting for the right family to call his own. Could it be you?
Mickey is an alert, attentive, playful and cheeky boy who loves interacting with people; meeting new people is an adventure for him. He’ll play with toys by himself or a friend - throwing, chasing and catching them, and taking a soft toy to his bed to snuggle with!
Mickey has in the past been a little head strong and has required training with his foster carer to make sure he is ready for a home. He will need a home with an experienced dog owner. His confidence at becoming a family pet has really improved, he just wishes he could open the fridge! He responds very well to gentle encouragement and has gained many skills in agility and correct pet behaviour, his walking on lead is excellent, and he is good with most other dogs. Mickey would love another dog for company, but a medium to larger dog would be best as he tends to not understand his own size during playtime.
Currently he lives on small acreage, allowing him to run and play with a quiet natured 4 year old male greyhound and has learnt many positive behavioural traits from him and gentle but firm human guidance.
Mickey is a very affectionate boy who will be by your side in the garden or house. He loves to walk through town and visit cafés, and even dines out at riverside restaurants with his foster carer! Then when it is time to go home, he loves his dinner and bed.
Mickey is two and a half years old and located on the Sunshine Coast.
