Introducing Tyson! Tyson is a 9 month old Staffy X Kelpie and not only is he handsome, but he has the personality and intelligence to match.

Since coming into foster care Tyson has responded very well to training and in a short amount of time has learnt to sit, stay and come. He is now learning to shake hands and is doing really well. Tyson is very food motivated and will do anything for a treat so training has been great, but he will require ongoing training to keep him confident and obedient.

Tyson is still learning his manners when it comes to unfamiliar dogs and will benefit from regular socialisation. He gets along well with other dogs after spending a little time getting to know them. He has shown no aggression towards cats, but often in his attempt to play will chase them away. Tyson would be best suited to older kids as he can get jumpy when excited or playing.

Tyson sleeps inside at night, but will go outside during the day with some toys or a doggy friend to keep him company. He would much prefer to be wherever his humans are though and if left alone outside all day, he can get a bit upset and howl sometimes. Tyson needs time to settle down and develop trust when meeting new men. He currently lives with 2 men in the house and they get along well together now, but it took a couple of days for him to stop being defensive and aggressive and learn to calm down when with them.

He is house-trained and, apart from a few accidents when he first arrived into foster care, he hasn’t had an accident overnight. Tyson will require a fence that is at least 6ft as he can jump. He has shown no signs of destructiveness or digging when left outside, however he has never been left on his own without another dog.

Tyson is the type of dog who likes to be close to his family, he doesn’t particularly care what the activity is; watching TV, reading a booking, walking or going for a ride in the car - he just wants to be close, so he’d be best suited to a family where someone is home often. His favourite toys are soft teddy bears, balls and his tug-o-war ring that he likes to wrestle with.

Tyson is a sweetheart and wants nothing more than a family to love him and give him a happy home. He is affectionate and loyal and loves a good cuddle and belly rubs. He will benefit greatly from someone who is confident with the staffy breed and also someone who is patient and willing to help him learn to trust and be a dog again.
