About Buster ~ On Trial 30/9/16
Buster is a beautiful, lovely natured, bubbly cattle dog mix. He is a friendly dog and has a happy spirit that has already won the hearts of his foster parents. He is 9 years old but is in good health. Despite the heartache of his previous owners passing away, and a few weeks in the pound, he has bounced back to being a happy spirited boy in a relatively short amount of time in our care.
Buster is very loyal and loves nothing more than to be a part of the family. He loves walks and playing with his foster carers but is equally happy relaxing inside whilst they are cooking or watching TV. He loves being wherever the family is, and would do well as an inside/outside dog. Ideally, he would love a family with someone who was home throughout the day, however in the absence of a human companion, he is also happy with other canine companions for company.
Buster is a very smart dog and eager to please. He also loves food which makes him easy to train. He is toilet trained and will bark if he needs to go outside to use the bathroom. He has also been taught how to sit for his meals and with further training he could be taught a lot more.
Buster is a very "round in the belly" - so that extra girth means his cuddles are bigger! He has just started a new diet to lose some extra kilo's and some of that puppy-fat. Because of his extra weight his not an active boy, and he's not a fence jumper. He will need a daily walk with you to help burn off those extra kilo's and become fitter.
He has previously lived with primary school aged children and would suit a family with children who are this age or older. He would be fine either as an only dog or with other dogs big or small. He gets along very well with other dogs and is currently living with a silky terrier and border collie x . He has a tendency to think chasing cats is a fun game so he is best suited to a family without cats or pocket pets.
In a very short time, Buster has come to have a special place in his foster family's hearts and we believe that such a special dog likes him should have a home where he can get all of the love and attention he deserves. Buster loves humans and would love to meet anyone interested in sharing their home with him.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
