About Speckles
Speckles is a desexed adult female. She has been in care for some months now, raising kittens and waving them off to their forever homes. It seems likely that Speckles has lived her life mostly as an unwanted stray. Initially she resented being kept indoors and really did not understand what the difference was between a litter tray and her bed! She wasn’t fond of being touched or being shown any affection, however as the months rolled by the ice maiden has thawed and she is now beginning to trust – maybe for the first time in her life. Speckles now initiates being patted and stroked and purrs very loudly in gratification.
Speckles has the odd accident with the litter tray – not always a direct shot into the tray with solid waste but a layer of newspaper around the tray will rectify easy cleaning . She never wees outside of the tray. There is no issue with urinating inappropriately. There is massive improvement in this area and she will continue to improve once settled.
As an older girl, Speckles is not really interested in playing. She has a relaxed, friendly personality and would soon settle in a quiet home where she is allowed to quietly laze her days away in the warmth and safety of sunshine beating through the window or by the heater. Her basket is very much loved now and she burrows into it to sleep.
Speckles is not a high maintenance cat. She prefers being able to live a quiet life but now trusts enough to welcome human attention – though not too much – she might give a gentle reminder via a tap with the paw just to let you know that is enough for now. You can see that this lady has been treated badly in a previous life, but she is a completely different cat to the one who arrived a few months ago. She is still improving and this will continue with a family who are prepared to respect her and give her time and space when she needs it. She will love you back. She will greet you and purr loudly when you pat her. She is so grateful for regular food and a warm basket. She needs a warm loving home to go along with that. She deserves to be a domesticated cat treated accordingly not discarded to fend for herself anyway she can. Do you have enough love and patience to unlock this lady’s potential? She will reward you if you do.
Medical notes
Speckles is desexed, microchipped and up to date with flea and worm treatments.
