About Donna ~ purebred Dachshund (on trial 30/07/16)
Donna is a 4yo purebred miniature Dachshund and is the Queen of Snuggling. Donna wants a home where she can claim her spot on the lounge or lazing in the sun where she can be close to her humans most of the day.
Donna loves a short walk each day. She shouldn't be off lead until she has had further training to teach her to return when called. She isn't into playing fetch or playing a lot but will occasionally wrestle with stuffed animals. She loves her food and isn't fussy at all (she may be small but watch out for those biscuits and scones as she may try to steal them off the coffee table lol).
Donna loves kids and adults of all ages but doesn't enjoy being picked up or held closely by very small children so maybe kids 5+ would be best. She is currently living with other small dogs but would also be fine as a only dog as long as she had plenty of human company. She isn't fond of cats and pocket pets.
She is almost fully toilet trained but still has an occasional accident (mainly when its wet out) but she is improving.
Donna is only a small short dog so will need to go to a home where she is allowed to live and sleep indoors. She feels the cold in winter so will need a coat to keep her warm and she will need some doggy stairs or ramps as she can't get on lounges and beds herself. She loves sleeping with her humans (under the covers and usually at the foot of the bed) but she will also sleep on her doggy bed if not allowed on the bed.
Donna is the sweetest of dogs she just wants to be with her humans and to be loved. She is a great doorbell and will let you know if someone is at the door and then try and charm the visitor into paying attention to her.

Donna's adoption fee is $450 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
