Bella ~ Kelpie (on trial 4/10/16)

This is Bella, a 3 year old Australian kelpie girl. Bella is very, very affectionate and will be your best friend once she has gotten to know you.

Originally from Quirindi pound, she had a bad case of mange, was very thin and fearful of most things. When she came into care she spent a fair bit of time hiding behind the lounge, but Bella has progressed in leaps and bounds now that she has learned to trust and is a happy and healthy girl.

Bella sleeps inside at night without any problems as long as she is told to "go out for a wee" before bed. She eats whatever she is given. Bella is still getting use to loud noises and will hide if it frightens her, normally behind the lounge, but is getting much better with reassurance. Bella would be best suited with a play mate as she does get bored if left on her own and may chew something if it’s left lying around.

Bella has no issues with children or other dogs. She has become confident playing with other dogs and loves nothing more than a game of chasies. She hasn’t been tested with cats or small animals. Bella walks fairly well on a lead, but walks much better with a harness.

Bella enjoys learning and tries very hard to please - she especially loves hugs when she does something right. I’m sure you can see her smiling when she has pleased you.
