About Reggie ED0060
Reggie is a really forward, affectionate and confident puppy. He loves strokes and tummy rubs and will sit next to his carer when she is watching TV in the evening – he just loves to be close to you. Reggie is being fostered with his sibling Archie and two resident dogs and gets on really well with all the canines – he loves the resident dogs and gives them kisses but if reprimanded by them he will take note and do as he is told.
Reggie is very robust, has a good appetite and loves chewing bones. He does not guard food and will share his dinner with his sibling Archie although the food doesn’t last long between the two of them!
Reggie is very smart and worked out how to use the doggy door on the second day in his foster home – he just followed the other dogs! He has access to the back garden for his toilet and now only has the occasional accident inside. Reggie understands the commands sit and out, and is learning stay and come.
As Reggie is a bright puppy it would be important for his brain to be used, so a home where he is involved in an activity that demands his attention and provides mental stimulation would be good for him. Reggie would also settle well in a home with another canine – he has always had the company of other dogs and really enjoys the play and affection this generates.
As a Kelpie X, Reggie’s energy levels will be high and he would need to go to a home where he is provided with enough regular exercise as he grows. He would also need a spacious safe area to play in so an active family home would suit. Reggie would not like to be left alone for long periods of time and certainly as a pup would get bored very quickly, so a commitment to include Reggie in all family activities would keep him very happy.
Reggie lives in close proximity to chickens in his foster home – he has attempted to chase them but since being reprimanded he has lost interest and now takes no notice of the chickens but his access to them is always closely supervised. Reggie does play with toys to some degree but isn’t as yet interested in chasing balls – being a cheeky puppy he did have an afternoon, with his sibling, ripping up cushions and has done a little digging in the garden, so keeping him active and occupied would help to curb such behaviour.
At night Reggie settles down well with Archie and sleeps right through very peacefully. If you are looking for a very happy, active, bright and loving puppy then Reggie is the dog for you.
