About Dre *On Trial in His New Home*
*DRE IS CURRENTLY TRIALING HIS NEW HOME - NO MORE APPLICATIONS/ENQUIRIES PLEASE* Looking for a friendly, affectionate lapdog but not the small kind? Then look no further than ‘Dre’ the loveable dufus!
Recently rescued from a local pound ‘Dre’, as he’s now known, had been running the streets of Broken Hill with a small terrier for a few days before the ranger finally caught up with them. The terrier found a new home, then the ranger contacted us SARG folk to assist with Dre as there was no way such an adorable young dog was being put to sleep.
Estimated by our vets to be 14½ months old, Dre has settled in well at his foster carers, in fact so well that the family was intending on him being a ‘failed foster’ and wanted to adopt him themselves, however due to an unexpected illness with one of their own dogs they have made the hard decision to put Dre up for adoption.
Dre gets along well with other dogs, so much so that we’d love to see him in his forever home with a fun-loving one especially if you’ll be away at work for most of the day. He’s in care with two Staffy’s and Dre often has play dates with a Maltese and a Jack Russell and he’s terrific with them all just wanting to play or hang out. He’s a bit too interested in ‘pocket pets’ and his carers do not have a cat so not sure what he’d be like with one.

Before coming into care Dre had never been in a car or a house let alone through a doorway; he found these tasks quite daunting, though now he’s the first one at the door to greet his carers when they get home. He is housetrained and sleeps inside all night on his comfy dog-bed, and like all of us hates getting up on a cold morning! He sits nicely when asked and drops (like a goofball!). The only thing Dre will need help with is lead work having never been on one until recently - he has been wearing a Halti on his walks which stops him from pulling and he’s getting the hang of it.
At just under 25kgs Dre is a nice, compact size. Our vets and us were unsure of what breeds he’s made up of though assume there’s some Staffy and some Ridgeback in him – whatever he is it’s a perfect combo making him an awesome all-rounder! So if you have room in your heart and your home for this gorgeous, dopey dufus please download and complete a SARG Dog Application form by following this link: http://www.sarg.net.au/adopt-a-pet.html
Medical notes
Dre is desexed, microchipped, C5 vaccinated and wormed.
Weight: 24.9kgs.

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
