About Buddy ~ Staffy x Cattle Puppy (on trial 8/09/16)
Buddy is a boisterous 12 week old, male Staffy X Cattle puppy. Buddy’s favourite thing to do is wrestle with his much larger foster brother (a wolfhound X) who’s more than twice his size! When he’s not wrestling he’s a very affectionate, snuggly puppy who loves being cuddled and having people and other dogs around him. He also enjoys being in the car.
Buddy will grow up to be a medium sized dog, but he’s still only a puppy and has a lot of learning to do. He is doing well so far - He’s almost housetrained and is learning his basic commands. He comes to you when you call his name. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
Buddy has a unique sound... It’s very much like a Tasmanian Devil, especially when he plays with his foster brother. It can sound a bit scary, but it’s all just sound. When you pick him up he makes little noises like a piggy - it’s quite cute! He howls loudly when left alone so he’ll love a home with a friend to play with or to be allowed inside with his family. He currently sleeps in a laundry with access to outside, but I’m sure he would love to sleep inside with his human family. Oh, and he snores… quite loud!
It would be a big plus if you have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for Buddy. If you don't have another dog to keep him company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time. He will be wonderful family dog though he would be best with older kids as he is still a puppy and could knock over a toddler when he is excited. He will need good fencing with no small gaps.
As Buddy is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Buddy, please contact Sherona on 0434 572 609 or by emailing Sherona-benefitness@outlook.com. Buddy is in foster care near Toronto, NSW (Lake Macquarie, South of Newcastle).
Buddy's adoption fee is $500 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
