Rex ~ Jack Russell Terrier (On Trial 19/7/16)

Hi! I’m Rex! I’m a Jack Russell and I think I’m about 2 years old.

I’m very friendly, I have always had doggy friends but I’m also very happy being the centre of attention with my human family so I would be happy as an only dog as long as I get lots of time and attention from my new family.

I can be a little timid when meeting new people but a treat and a gentle pat wins me over every time.

I’ve only met a few children in my time with my foster family but I liked them quite a lot - I think because they are small like me! They must like me too because they throw me lots of treats from their highchairs!

I can be a bit scared of loud noises but with a little reassurance I settle down quickly - I don’t even blink when my foster mum’s washing machine spins! My foster mum says I’m very sweet because even when I’m scared she hasn’t heard me growl or seen me nip once.

I’m not scared of birds or small animals though, so I need a home without any bird or furry friend siblings because I REALLY likes them.

I enjoy a 20 minute walk but much longer and I get pretty tired. Any less than every second day and I can get a little bored in the backyard. I am a talented digger and jumper so I need high and well secured fences. Regular walks take the dig right out of me though!

I am well housetrained, a quick walk outside before bed and I’m comfy all night. I am used to sleeping on my humans bed but my foster dad isn’t too keen on this so I have been sleeping with my puppy foster brothers in a different room and I’m happy with this. I will need to be able to sleep inside in my new home (even if it’s not on the bed).

I have basic commands sit & stay down pat. My foster mum says I’m very clever because I’m learning to shake and lie down so quickly!

My ideal forever home will consist of a retiree or someone home all day with lots of time to spend with me. I have a lot of affection and love to give. I love to sit on laps! Ideally I’d like to live with another dog but would be happy in a single dog household with the right human.
