About Sooty
Sooty is a gorgeous sleek, mini panther. Sooty and his sisters Willow and Freya found themselves dumped at an animal shelter when they were just 4 weeks old, and initially were very scared and wary of humans. It took a week or so of regular feeding and soothing words, but they quickly came around once they realised that not all humans were mean.
Sooty is a curious cat who was the first to warm up to us and become affectionate toward us. He loves to explore and chase toys as well as wrestle with his siblings, but is also VERY affectionate. He will let people know he would like attention by rubbing up against people and purring loudly, a purr that gets even louder when he is content. His favourite place to curl up and sleep is in a nice soft basket or or any bed with a human occupying it.
Sooty would suit just about any indoor household, and while he would enjoy the company of another young cat to play with, whether his new humans already have a young cat or perhaps they might be willing to adopt another with him, he would also settle well as a single cat.
All kittens raised by this foster carer have been raised around other cats and small dogs, and there have been no issues to date.

Adoption details
Before Adoption:
Before adopting a new pet, ensure all family members understand that a pet is an emotional and financial commitment that you need to be prepared to love, house and keep safe for the next 15 to 20 years. This means premium nutrition, preventative health care, regular veterinary check-ups and keeping them inside or only having access to a cat proof area or yard. Pet insurance with accident and illness cover gives you piece of mind knowing your pet can get the veterinary care they may need and you don’t have to worry about if the expense.
We start off by either emailing you our adoption questionnaire or having a chat on the phone to get some details about who you are and what you’re looking for in a feline companion. Next step is to organise a meet and greet. Depending on your location, we bring the feline/s to you or you can come and visit the orphanage. There is usually a 24hour wait from the meet and greet to collecting your new family member so everyone has a night to think things over and so you have a chance to get your home repaired. If all goes well and everyone is happy, the adoption paperwork is signed and you collect your new family member.
All adoptions are subject to a two week settling in period. If for any reason your new addition is not suited to your lifestyle, you are welcome to return them for a full refund of the adoption fee. All adoptions come with an adoption pack which contains all their certificates and paperwork, information on preventative health care, diet, pet insurance and potential toxins/poisons around the home.
After adoption, we continue to provide ongoing advice and support in order to help you care for your new family member. To find out more about any of our orphans, please contact Alexandria at Kittie Kat Rescue, after the settling period we will always take back the cat no questions asked.
