Simba is a timid boy who is slowly coming out of his shell. He is having to learn a lot of new things like - what is his favourite dog toy, what to do with a dog bone, why other dogs run around and play together and much more.
Simba is a very loyal dog who loves to give and receive affection. He is happy to sleep on his bed or next to you on the sofa. When his lucky enough to have hugs in a human bed he likes to lay on you with his head on your chest. He really is a big fluffy sook.
Simba socialises well at the doggy park and tends to stand back and watch. His is not overly keen on pushy dogs at present but he is still learning how to interact with other dogs.
Simba doesn’t mind a doggy wash and loves to be brushed. He can be a bit strong on his lead but he can be easily corrected as his listens to commands well. He is happy to sit for his food or treats but needs a little more practice with his waiting.
Simba is ideally looking for a relaxed quiet household that have older children with an older dog who is happy to teach Simba the ropes.

As we rely on our foster carers (who are all volunteers and have families, jobs and pets of their own) to help with adoptions it may take a couple of days to organise for you to meet a dog once you have submitted your adoption application. We appreciate your understanding and patience with us while we work with you to ensure the perfect match for your family.
Safe Haven Animal Rescue Inc have a 10 day trial/settling period, if for any reason the pet needs to be returned, we will happily take them back into our care once a foster home is found and the adoption fee minus $50 (admin fee) will be returned via bank transfer within 5 working days. If the pet is returned after the trial period there will be no refund made.
**Please note that all paperwork including the Microchip Change of owner form will be handed over after the 10 day trial period.**
Harvey Dog Training supports SHARI and has kindly offered to provide our adopted animals 30% off training/obedience classes. If you are keen to enrol your new puppy/dog please mention this in your email to us!
