Banjo ~ Border Collie x Kelpie (on trial 24/07/16)

Somebody call the “Cute Police!” Banjo is by far and away the sweetest little puppy on the planet. This little guy is the smallest in his litter and is a really laid back, easy going pup.

He does have a cheeky side and has no problems instigating play fighting with his 7 month old foster brother. He doesn’t rush his food, which has meant he has missed out in his first weeks, but his foster mum is now making sure he has his own bowl and portion and expects he will soon start catching up with his siblings. He is currently being fed a combination of cooked rice and chicken mince, dry food, wet food, porridge and puppy milk. We expect Banjo will be possibly a medium sized dog when fully grown.

Being a Border Collie x Kelpie, Banjo will need a family who are committed to giving him regular exercise and socialisation. Working dogs are smart and they need to burn their energy with lots of exercise and brain stimulating activities such as food puzzles toys and games so this energy does not manifest in negative ways. He adores his human foster siblings and would be happy with another gentle doggy brother or sister for company. Banjo has become a quick favourite in his foster home where he sleeps inside in a heated room and has meals and playtime outside.

He is happy to explore the yard and play with the other dogs. His favourite toy is whatever someone else is dragging around, he will join in and play tug of war. He has started putting himself to bed in the big dog kennel when he gets sleepy, telling his foster mum it’s time to come inside.

His little tum needs filling 4 times a day at the moment and he will then sleep through the night. This will need to be taken into account by anyone looking to adopt a small pup as they need time through the day in the early stages. He will not be suitable for a household where he is left alone for long periods of time. Banjo loves cuddles and has some gorgeous caramel brown patches in his black and white coat. He will be an amazing family dog!

Banjo will require regular walking and housing with 6ft colourbond fencing with plenty of room to run around. Please note applications with residences that have rural fencing will not be considered.

Banjo is not yet trained, and we always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.

As Banjo is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens as he will need to be returned to one of our vets for desexing when he’s 5 months old.

Banjo’s adoption fee is only $600 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and microchipping.
