Tilly ~ Border Collie x Kelpie on Trial 24/07/16

Meet Miss Tilly Devine! Border Collie x Kelpie 10 week old puppy and the only girl in a 5 dog house, you better believe she is keeping those boys in line. Tilly is a dog with spunk! She has good looks, the softest Border Collie coat and a big personality.

Being a Border Collie x Kelpie, Tilly is energetic and playful and doesn’t mind a good tumble with her brothers. She loves her food and eats everything put in front of her. She will grow to be possibly a medium to larger sized dog. It’s hard to tell if her coat will get long, but at the moment it is super soft and cuddly.

Tilly is settling into a nice routine in her foster home where she sleeps inside in a heated room and has meals and playtime outside. She is happy to explore the yard and play with the other dogs. Tug of war with a soft toy is a favourite game. She has started putting herself to bed in the big dog kennel when she gets sleepy, telling her foster mum it’s time to come inside.

Her little tum needs filling 4 times a day at the moment and she will then sleep through the night. This will need to be taken into account by anyone looking to adopt a small pup as they need time through the day in the early stages. She will not be suitable for a household where she is left alone for long periods of time. She is currently being fed a combination of cooked rice and chicken mince, dry food, wet food, porridge and puppy milk.

Tilly will be an exceptional dog for a family who are committed to giving her regular exercise and socialisation. Working dogs are smart and they need to burn energy with lots of exercise and brain stimulating activities such as food puzzles toys and games so this energy does not manifest in negative ways. She adores her human foster siblings and would be happy with another doggy brother or sister for company. As pups go, this little gangster is the complete package!

Tilly will require regular walking and housing with 6ft colourbond fencing with plenty of room to run around. Please note applications with residences that have rural fencing will not be considered.

Tilly is not yet trained, and we always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.

As Tilly is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens as he will need to be returned to one of our vets for desexing when she’s 5 months old.
