About Tess
Tessa's story
We found this poor girl cowering terrified under a house. We had to remove the steps to get her out. We were taken aback once we got her out and could see just how sad of a case she was. Her story so far: within an hour of release from under the house we had driven her to visit our vet. We haver her age as 9. She looks much older. She is very underweight, and has chronically neglected skin with large amounts of hair missing. Her ears are misshapen due to fly bites and her eyes were sunken and infected. I asked the vet if she needed eye medication and he said it was most likely caused by malnourishment. Her blood tests show she has hypo thyroidism and she is now on tablets to help her. Within the last 8 days under our care she is no longer weak and wags her tail; although still a little suspicious and timid. Her eyes have cleared and are brighter everyday. Although still itchy her skin is improving. We know that she likes to go for a walk and be in the car. She does not cope well with being left alone. She does not do well with cats. She is ok with other dogs but needs to be fed seperately, as she tends to eat any food that is in reach. We are looking for someone very special that can make up for all the years of neglect and give this girl the life she deserves.
Tess's foster Mum says she's a lovely smoochy girl who loves the creature comforts, is housetrained, loves other dogs, prefers no cats and would appreciate someone who is home more often than not.
Tess looks so different now and really is a happy girl.
