About Buster ~ Maltese x Shih Tzu puppy (Trial 13/7/16)
Buster is a 9 week old, male, Maltese x Shih Tzu puppy. He is a fluffy little ball of fur who loves to play, cuddle and nap. He is a very healthy little boy who has been raised in a home environment. He has a low-shedding coat and will need regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and beautiful.
Buster is an inside dog and must sleep inside. He will be great family dog and is suitable for children 8 years and older. You will need good fencing with no small gaps.
It would be a big plus if you had another friendly dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for Buster. If you don't have another dog to keep him company, then we would prefer for there to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time so he doesn't have to spend long hours home alone.
We recommend puppy training classes for all puppies. Buster will need a daily walk, toys, and interaction with people. Puppies are a big commitment for approximately 15 years.
Buster and his sister Lottie are healthy, happy little puppies ready to begin their lives in their forever homes.
As Buster is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Buster, please phone his foster mum Robyn on 02 4953 7115. Please leave a detailed message and she'll ring you back. The puppies are in Glendale, NSW (Lake Macquarie, near Newcastle).
Buster's adoption fee is $650 and includes his desexing, two vaccinations, and he's been treated for fleas and worms, and microchipped.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
