About Clyde
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT CLYDE REQUIRES EXTRA TALL FENCES OR A DOG RUN TO KEEP HIM SECURE WHEN NO ONE IS HOME.
Hi my name is Clyde and I'm a 2 year old staghound x. I certainly have the short, wiry coat of the staghound, but more the size of a kelpie. I have been vaccinated, wormed, microchipped and heartworm treated.
I spent 6 months of my first year in a shelter. I needed someone’s help to teach me how to be a good dog, so my foster mum took me home to help me. It didn't take me long before I was starting to understand how to be a well-behaved boy. There was lots of training involved, including learning about good manners. I know how to sit, drop and stand on command, and sit/drop and stay, and my recall is pretty good too. I walk really well on a lead and know how to heel. I would enjoy going for a run with someone or beside a bike would be awesome. I love to chase a ball or toy and will bring it back, and like to go swimming in the dam.
I'm very active, so a home with lots of room to run with excellent fencing would be ideal, as I can jump a fence. I enjoy following my foster mum around when she is busy doing things on the property and I never try to go anywhere whilst someone is with me but I might try if you aren’t home. If you have a dog run for me or extra high fences that would be ideal but if you haven’t got the right security for me for me Canine Lifeline will help you make sure I’m secure.
I live with three other dogs, a cat, chickens and horses who I get along well with and I would really like a home with canine company. I don’t have separation anxiety but I may go looking for someone to play with if you leave me alone. I don’t tolerate puppies well but older dogs are great fun.
Because I like to run I had to learn not to chase the horses, now I just like to hanging out with them. When I'm allowed inside, I love to relax on my bed with my other doggie friends, and because I love being around people, I could hang out with them all day.
I can't wait to go for rides in the car so going on holidays with my new family would be great.
Because I love life so much, and I get a bit excited, I would not be suitable for small children, but older children would be fine. If you think I might be that perfect fellow for you, enquiries can be sent to caninelifeline@hotmail.com for an application form to be sent out.
