About Lilla ~ Labrador (On Trial 5/7/16)
Lilla – the very loveable Labrador! She is very playful and energetic and enjoys the company of humans and other dogs.
Lilla is quite a small Lab weighing only 25 kilos, she gets very excited and loves attention and sometimes will jump for joy at the sight of you and food.
Lilla has been mostly an outdoor dog but also likes to be inside and happily sleeps indoors without any accidents. She enjoys watching anyone who may be in the kitchen and will stare at you with those big brown eyes to convince you to give her something to eat. She has perfected the ‘puppy face’ which compels you to stop and give her a pat or a head scratch.
She knows some basic commands such as sitting and waiting for her food, which is quite a feat knowing how much she loves food. She can also shake hands. She also loves the water, playing with balls, running around and chasing sticks to bring back to chew on. She seems to know the difference between what can chew because she doesn’t touch shoes or chew up blankets or her bedding.
Lilla is not a digger or a jumper but is very active so will need the usual secure fencing.
She has grown up with her sibling and gets on very well with her new foster sister and would do well with another dog to keep her company as she is used to having another dog around her.
Lilla will need a lot of love, time and patience to be taught some new skills but she is always eager to please so this should be a pretty easy task if you have the confidence and time to train her. She will also need some work on her recall skills and walking on a lead.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
