Oh, Kenny! An absolutely gorgeous German Koolie pup, Kenny is totally blind - not that this stops him from squeezing every last drop out of life!
Highly intelligent, affectionate and playful, this beautiful boy is a joy to have around. He will quickly learn the layout of your house, your daily routines, and where the treats are kept. :)
Kenny’s blindness means he will be dependent on you for some things – especially his safety – and this will connect him to you in a very special relationship. But a lap dog, he certainly is not! Kenny is extremely independent and courageous and needs a lot of stimulation. He loves his walks and playing with other dogs, and will chase and wrestle them just like a sighted dog.
Being Kenny’s owner will involve some added responsibility and time, but it will repay big dividends with the love and companionship of a very special little guy.
MY IDEAL HOME: I need lots of mental and physical enrichment, and a patient guiding hand.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Medium to high. I'm hoping for a big backyard to run around in, and/or a good walk every day to stay happy and healthy.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: My nature is best suited to older children aged 10+.
MY SUITABILITY TO DOGS AND CATS: If you have another dog at home, it would preferably be an older female who can take on a mentoring role with me. Cats are an unknown quantity at this stage!
*In foster care in Leichhardt, Sydney*
Medical notes
Kenny is totally blind.
Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at http://www.maggiesrescue.org/adoption-enquiry/. Please use this link rather than the 'find out more' button on the pet's PetRescue profile.
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in adopting.
Maggie's wants this to be a good experience for you, and we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog as your situation may not meet the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of this period we will transfer the microchip to your details and the adoption is complete.
Your pet is a Maggie's Pet for Life, please consider this before adopting.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
