Monte ~ 6mo Maltese X boy (On Trial 29/6/16)

Monte is a sweet little 6 month old Maltese X boy. We are not too sure of Monte’s crossbreed (possibly Chihuahua or Pomeranian), but that won’t matter one bit as he will steal your heart with his cute, quirky look.

Monte is an absolute delight – an energetic ball of scruff. Within minutes of meeting his foster dog brother, he had him running madly around the yard. He loves to cuddle and, boy, does he insist on showing he loves you with heaps of kisses. He loves to be by your side, but he is also happy to sit quietly by himself.

Monte is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside. Monte has previously had a few minor accidents in the house, but is coming along well with toilet training. He will come to you when called though there are times when running is too much fun. Monte is still a puppy so we always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.

Monte’s favourite thing is running madly around the backyard which has the kids in hysterics. He loves to play fetch, but won’t necessarily bring it back and he also loves chew toys. He is still young and has a fair bit of puppy hair that sticks up a bit like static electricity. He can be jumpy, but settles down very fast. He barks a little, but no more than expected for a young puppy. Very endearingly, he puts himself to bed when he’s tired.

Monte’s ideal home would be with someone who is home a lot and maybe another dog to play with. He has a lot of youthful enthusiasm to be close to you. He hasn’t met older dogs, but he loves having a young and active playmate. He would be best with older kids. He loves the cat a bit too much so he might be better in a home without cats.

Monte is a huge personality in a tiny body, loving and affectionate. My girls and I will miss him tremendously when he finds his forever home.
