About Mickey
Meet Mickey, one of the newest rescue cats to FFARL!!!
Mickey came to us a few weeks ago in quite a bad way, he appeared to have a very large abdominal hernia after going missing for a few days from his previous owners home and he required some pretty major abdominal surgery to repair it. Due to the extensive veterinary care required his owners made the tough decision to surrender him to FFARL, to ensure he can get the care he requires.
Looking at the extent of his wounds we're guessing he was attacked by a dog during the time he was missing, though we'll never know what really happened.
The wonderful staff at Latrobe Veterinary Hospital took Mickey to surgery and repaired the large hernia in his abdominal wall. Mickey is very lucky there was no obvious damage to his internal organs.
Mickey still has bald patches though his hair is growing back, more importantly he has recovered very well from surgery and is now looking for a forever family to love.
Mickey is a 7 month old black boy who is cheeky, playful and full of character. He loves to play have a cuddle, sitting on your lap and has a lovely loud purr... His litter trained and claws the scratch post, not the couch!!
Mickey is happily living with 2 other cats in his foster home, he is cautious of he carers dog though not aggressive.
Due to the injuries Mickey received he will need to be an indoor cat or have access to a secure cat run for outside time, this way he cannot get himself into trouble again.
Mickey will make a wonderful addition to any home who is looking a playful yet cuddly kitty.
