About Boo ~ On Trial 1/7/16
Hello my name is Boo and I am a stunning 9 month old male Japanese Spitz. I’m only 12kg so I’m only small but my fluffy hair and big personality makes me look bigger. I am a happy and very energetic pup who loves to be with people. When people come over I love to meet them and get them to play in the yard with me. I’m a little bit like the Energizer Bunny so I’m on the lookout for an active family who will enjoy taking me with them on outings and taking me walking every day.
My favourite things ever are food, cuddles and walkies. I love exploring the neighbourhood with you each day on twice daily walks (morning and afternoon). When it’s a sunny day I love the sun on my coat and the wind in my hair so I have a big smile on my face. I also enjoy playing fetch in the yard with my foster mum. I love toys! Did I mention that before? Squeaky balls and soft toys are the best!
I enjoy the company of other dogs and am currently living with a large, friendly dog who I play chasings and wrestling with. I am in foster care with two rabbits, and I enjoy watching them play too – they are cute and fluffy - but not as cute and fluffy as me!! I am great with people of all ages including children. I would be best suited however to a family with older children as I’m such an enigmatic, energetic boy that little kids would distract from all the attention on me! Yes, I have to admit it, I’m what you’d call a little “high maintenance” so my new family needs to have a lot of love, commitment to my training and needs to remember that I’m more than just a pretty face!
I adore food and I’m not fussy at dinner time at all. I can be a bit of a food thief, so you need to watch I don’t steal your lunch – my foster mum is helping me learn that pinching food is not good doggy manners. I love to learn, and I’m treat focused so I’m responding well to training. I’m now good at the commands Sit and Come, and I’m working on Down, Stay and Leave It.
Even though I like the company of other dogs I am very people focused so I’d best suit a home where there is someone home often - if you are a stay at home mum or dad, work from home, or are semi-retired/retired then I’d love that too (I would pine too much if you work full time). I’m an inside/outside dog – I love playing in the yard and coming in and out as I please. I sleep inside at night. I have a long fluffy coat that needs a good brush every second day to keep me looking beautiful. I enjoy visiting the groomers too as I love being pampered like a superstar.
I am looking for a home where my new family include me in their daily life. Ideally my new home should have experience with high energy dogs and be prepared to continue my training to ensure that I grow up to be a well-rounded and well-mannered adult. I won't lie, sometimes I can be a handful, but on the whole I am gentle and loving, and just looking for someone to love me!

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
