About Juno ~ kelpie x fox terrier ( on trial 24/07/16)
Juno – 2 year old, male, Kelpie x Fox Terrier. Juno is the perfect pet. He is toilet trained, great on the lead, good with young kids and loves a cuddle. It has taken him some time to get used to our boisterous Kelpie x but now they play very well together and curl up together in the evening.
Juno was seriously underweight when he first came into our home with bones jutting out and slowly as he has worked out that food will be regularly provided, he has been calmer around food. We have had to feed Juno away from our other dog because as you can understand he may have been living on the streets for some time before being placed in the pound with other very hungry animals. Juno had no training and now he can sit, stay, and come. This young dog is very smart and has the ability to learn much more.
Juno is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside. We often take him to a nearby dog park and throw a ball for him. This is something Juno loves. Maybe it would be better to describe him as ball obsessed. He will bring it back every time – unless he is tired and then he will drop it next to you and lie on top of it until he catches his breath. He generally ignores other dogs and if they bark at him he just moves away. I’ve only seen him play with our dog and that didn’t happen instantly.
Juno has transformed from a timid skeleton into a cheeky, happy, playful, energetic, sociable dog eager to belong to someone special. Juno is a healthy 11.6kgs. If you would like to meet him, you will surely find that he is truly wonderful. The perfect match for this perfect pet would have to be willing to throw a ball for him, give him loads of attention and stimulation. He is a great jumper so he would need a secure yard with adequate fencing.
For more information or to meet Juno, please contact his foster carer Sam on 0466 470 700 or email samhodkelly@gmail.com. Juno is in foster care in Newcastle and is available for adoption interstate.
Juno's adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
