About Marco ~ 4mo male Kelpie X puppy (On Trial 29/9/16)
Marco is a beautiful 4 month old male Kelpie X puppy. On one hand he is content to sit and watch you, while on the other he morphs into “GOOFY” with his over exuberance when he comes barrelling toward you in welcome.
Marco loves playing with other dogs - he wants to be part of the pack. Most times he is welcomed, however there are times when his playfulness is a little overwhelming to the other dogs. Once he settles a bit, he plays well with them. He loves racing around the yard and playing tug with a rope, though he hasn’t mastered fetch yet.
Marco enjoys being with people inside and is slowly getting a grasp of toilet training. He needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. He will grow up to be a medium sized dog. He does jump on you and, being a puppy, he throws all his weight behind him for the biggest puppy hugs you can imagine. Not so great if you have small children, so he would be only suitable for children over 10yrs.
Marco is gorgeous and he gets on well with dogs and people alike. He will need training and patience by anyone who adopts him, but with love and care he will be a wonderful family dog. We don't feel that Marco will be suitable as a dog athlete or running partner. It would be a big plus if you have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for Marco. If you don't have another dog to keep him company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time.
As Marco is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Marco, please phone Robyn on 02 4953 7115. Please leave a detailed message and she'll ring you back. Marco is in foster care in Elermore Vale, NSW (Newcastle area).
Marco's adoption fee is $450 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
