About Benji - Beagle x Staffy (Trial 11/6/16)
My name is Benji. I am a 3 year old Beagle X Staffy weighing 24 kg that loves being around my foster family of humans and 5 other dogs.
I have a beautiful temperament and like all humans (including children) and other dogs. I don’t have a nasty trait in me at all and I don’t try to jump fences or dig holes to escape. I just want to be loved and treated well and I guarantee I will gave the same back.
I like being outside in a nice sized yard with good shelter and I love and must have a good bed and area to sleep. I am currently a bit spoiled having a Toyota Coaster bus to myself with a double bed, blankets, dooners and pillow. It is really cosy and peaceful. Every night my foster dad tucks me in under a dooner and I stay in that position until I get up the next day. I generally sit on cue but I can get a little excited or distracted from time to time and forget how to. I would really like my new family to keep training me because I am a very very smart boy and I learn quickly. Tell me to stay outside the house and I will. Put my food bowl down and tell me to wait and I will until you give me the direction to come and eat.
I certainly won’t mind if you allow me in your house as I am extremely well behaved. I won’t chew things up or wreck the place at all.
I don’t mind being left on my own for a few hours but like all dogs I love someone being around as much as possible. Please don’t just leave me at home alone all day every day as I don’t deserve that and NEVER tie me up unless it is essential to do so.
I am a strong and active boy who must have someone to take me for a daily walk or run. I am good on the lead and like cocking my leg up every 20 metres. I don’t know what I am like with cats because there are none here at my foster home. I will have a small bark if a bird flies over but generally nobody would ever hear me.
I could be a best friend for ever to someone out there. I am a very affectionate doggie and can't wait for my forever family and home.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
