About Obie ##On trial##
Meet Obie, a gorgeous Kelpie Mix male, of 8 months of age. Obie is located in foster care in North Balgowlah, NSW.
Whilst Obie isn’t living with Kids, we have plenty of children in the neighbourhood and can be timid and scared, but has warmed to the little girls next door, slowly. He is living with 2 Boxer adult male dogs. Obie although is DOG FRIENDLY, has had not exposure to pocket pets or cats. Obie sleeps in his bed, on the floor in his foster Mum's bedroom, or sometimes, he sneaks up on the bed with her and his foster brothers.
Obie doesn’t show any food aggression and can be fed with the other dogs with no problem. He gently takes treats from your hand and shows no dominance towards other dogs inside the home and outside the home. He is playful now, but it has taken 6/7 weeks to get it out of him. Obie has not had the best start to life, and has been in foster care for over 7 weeks, receiving rehabilitation and training. He can be fearful of strangers at first and is timid, but with patience and routine he is beginning to shine.
Obie walks beautifully on the lead. He is now off leash at the park and knows the drill. He will now leave the house without a lead, jump in the car on his own and out to the park – vice versa. He isn’t a big fan of riding in the car and salivates like nothing else – can be a bit car sick but little trips every day is seeing him get better and better. He has had no formal training but will come when called, we haven’t mastered sit yet, but he will in time, when he trusts his foster humans more.

Adoption details
When enquiring about Obie, please give us some indication of the type of home that he would have with you. We are interested in things such as other animals (past and present), children who may have contact with the dog, whether you own or rent your home (Permission from your landlord a MUST), what opportunities for socialisation outside the home your dog would have, how much you/someone is home and most importantly, why you feel this dog may be suitable for you.
Wally's Doggie Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family.
Wyong Dog Training Club will provide 3 free dog training sessions http://wyongdogtrainingclub.org.au/ . So please be sure to utilise this awesome gift which will benefit both you and Obie.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
