About Bob
Tiny little Bob is as cute as they come. He is a happy, loving little boy and weighs in at only 2.6kg. Bobby has a bit of weight to gain as he's a little on the skinny side, but he won't ever be a big boy.
Bob was an unclaimed stray, rescued by a Brisbane pound. When no-one came to collect him, the team at the shelter asked us to take him into foster care as he was not coping in the shelter. He was scared and afraid, but has really come out of his shell now he is in foster care.
Bob gets along well with other dogs, and he is fostered in a home with big and little dogs! He is also lovely and gentle with children, although due to his small size we would prefer only families with older chihuahua-savy children apply to adopt him. He is too little to be in a home with rough toddlers.
Bob is a healthy boy, who deserves a home that will never abandon him again.
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Adoption details
Chihuahua Rescue QLD Inc. is not a first to apply rescue group.We re-home our dogs based on the best possible family we can find them.
The first step to adopting a dog from us is to fill out an expression of interest form.
We encourage you to provide as much detail as possible about your family and your home as this helps us make sure we match you with the most suitable dog.

Due to the large volume of inquiries we are unable to respond to all applications. If you are considered suitable for the dog you have applied for you will be contacted witihin one week of applying.
Please note: we do not organise any meet and greet without a completed expression of interest form.
Our adoption process involves:
1) Completing online application form - only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
2) Arranging a meet and greet with the dogs foster carer, after which we ask you to take 24 hours to make a decision about whether you want to adopt this dog
3) A brief home visit and yard check from one of our volunteers
4) Adoption trial spanning four weeks.
We ask that you pay the dogs adoption fee at the beginning of the adoption trial, however this will be refunded if for any reason the dog is not working out in your home within the four week period. We offer a four week adoption trial to make sure that you have plenty of time for your new dog to settle into your home and so we can offer you full support during this period and beyond.
We offer a free health check with our vets at Indooroopilly, Browns Plains, Jindalee or Chermside vet clinic after you’ve adopted your dog and every dog in our care is up to date with all vet work.
