About Polly ~ kelpie x, 11 month old (On Trial 9/7/16)
Pretty Polly is an 11 month old Kelpie X who loves everyone she meets. She is a very snuggly girl and likes nothing better than to be close to you. Polly is very smart and a quick learner. When she came into care, her manners needed work but she is coming along in leaps and bounds. She sits when asked and will wait to be given the ok before eating her food. For someone who is willing to keep working with her she is going to be an amazing, smart, and well behaved dog.
Polly loves company both human and canine. She currently has a foster sister who is also a Kelpie X and 2 Staffy X foster brothers whom she just loves to play with.
Polly requires physical and mental exercise so regular activity with people is a must. She'd also enjoy regular opportunities to play with other compatible dogs. She walks beautifully with a harness and lead. She needs a secure yard. While she has shown no signs of being an escape artist, she is able to jump up onto things without any trouble so high secure fencing would be needed just as a security measure.
Polly just loves toys! She loves to play tug-o-war with all members of her foster family both two legged and four legged. She will happily chase a ball although getting her to give you the ball back to throw again is a challenge that her foster family are working on.
There are only teenagers in her foster family and she can be very bouncy and boisterous during play time. Supervision would be recommended if she was playing around younger children, just to ensure no one gets knocked over.
Normally play time is the only time that she barks. During quiet time she is happy to sit quietly on her doggy bed.
Polly is a good girl who sleeps inside on her doggy bed during the night. She does go outside when her foster family goes out, but is allowed inside regularly when they are home. She has never had a toileting accident inside.
If you think you Polly would fit into your family, please get in contact with her foster mum Darlene 0438 346 668 (text preferred) or email stepbowpet@hotmail.com. Polly is in foster care in Singleton, NSW (west of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Polly's adoption fee is $400 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
