About Marlee ~ Pug x Foxie (on trial 10/06/16)
Marlee is a sweet and cheeky 12 month old Pug x Foxie little girl. Marlee is very affectionate and playful with both her humans and her canine playmates. She loves to be wherever you are, whether that’s outside sunning herself outside in the yard, helping you with gardening or chores, or just taking a nap on your lap when you settle in to watch TV at night.
Marlee is in foster care with 3 other small dogs of various ages and she’s good with them. Being quite young and over friendly she can sometimes be in their face a little too much, so she still needs to learn some doggy etiquette in relation to respecting older dogs’ personal space. She is also in care with cats and chickens in a chicken run and she doesn’t chase or pay them too much attention.
Marlee is a very slight build with very long legs - she has a typical Jack Russel spring in her step to the point that she will climb in and out of the window that is left open for the cats to take herself out to the toilet. She was originally surrendered to rescue for climbing and jumping fences and playing on the road (she has no road sense), so 6 foot fencing with no gaps at the bottom is a mandatory requirement for her new home to keep her safe and sound.
Marlee can follow basic commands like sit but is still learning, she responds very well to treats as she loves her food. With time and commitment to her training she will grow into a well-rounded and well trained adult dog. Marlee is house trained and will take herself outside to go to the toilet.
Marlee is best suited to a home with a playful young dog of similar size to her to keep her company – she is not suited to being in the yard all day as she may try to escape looking for companionship. She would also suit a family where someone is home during the day. She is in foster care with 3 children varying from 3 years to teenagers and she is great with all of them.
For more information or to meet Marlee, please contact her foster carer Karen on plumb2a@bigpond.com. Marlee is in foster care near Gosford on the NSW Central Coast, and is not available for adoption interstate.
Marlee's adoption fee is $500 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
