About Lani ~ Terrier x (Senior) on trial 8/07/16
Lani is a 12-year-old terrier X who is looking for a forever home where she will be able to lay on the lounge or sit on a lap getting a pat. She is a delightful little lady who adores a belly rub.
Although she is a senior girl, Lani still enjoys a short daily walk and gets very excited when she sees the lead. Lani usually spends her day asleep on the lounge or laying on a bed in the sun. She likes to have a run around the yard with the other dogs but is then happy to lay quietly on her bed.
Lani is currently living with 2 large dogs. She gets on very well with them and even sleeps in the lounge room with them. Unlike me, her snoring doesn’t bother them! She does not like small dogs however and tries to boss them around. Lani’s perfect forever home would be one where she is an only dog or with medium-sized dogs. She would be the perfect companion for an elderly person or couple. Lani would not be suitable for a home with young children due to her age.
When Lani came into care she was in very poor condition and was missing a lot of hair. She also had to have all her teeth removed. Lani is now in good health but her new family will need to take care with her diet to ensure her skin remains irritation free. She will also require regular grooming to keep her coat tidy. She really enjoys being brushed. Lani enjoys her food (dry food is soaked in warm water) and even steals the cat’s dinner when she can. Lani isn’t bothered by the cat and usually just ignores him.
Lani is able to use a dog door and is house trained however this will need to be re-established in her new home. She is desexed, vaccinated and has had regular worm and flea treatments. Do you think you might be the right family for Lani?
If you are interested in adopting/meeting Lani please email an application form to her foster carer, Michelle at michelle.jackson@live.com.au or for more information call on 0422652530. Lani is located in Cessnock, 40 minutes North-West of Newcastle.
Lani’s adoption fee is $100 and includes desexing, microchipping, vaccinations, worm and flea treatments and life-time registration.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
