About Bruce (pet of the month $150)
Bruce
Large Male Bull Arab x Dane
Located in Toowoomba 4350
Hi!
My name is Bruce and I am looking for my new best mate. I love my daily walks/car rides and love spending time with my humans. I get along with all humans however I prefer kids over 8. Because of my size I would feel really bad if I knocked someone over! I would never mean to though. I know how to sit, drop and shake and wait for food and am really well house trained! I came into OTC care the afternoon I was scheduled to die in the pound. Nobody came for me when I was impounded which is surprising because I am such a lovely dog. Luckily OTC had a road trip planned to visit my pound and I had a seat on the ride home. Ever since I have been a ball of fun!
I am house trained and patient. I don't jump fences and I don't bark often at all. I can sometimes be a bit funny with other dominant dogs but I get along with most others. I love my walks and have been trained by THINK Canine Training and Behaviour and am now getting better and better on the leash, and in public! I have been learning to look at exciting things without jumping or lunging and to follow my human nicely on the leash. I am a very clever, affectionate boy who is excelling. My perfect home will mean there are no cats, and I can sleep inside or outside, but please do let me come into the house sometimes when you're home! I also would prefer to either be the only dog, or have a very well balanced friend- I don't get along with other males that are dominant or pushy!

I am ready for my new best friend, and I can't wait to find someone who can return the love I'll give. I come with a free training session with THINK Canine Behaviour & Training (if adopted around the 4350 area) to help settle me into my new home :) OTC believes in setting dogs up for success so often will provide a consultation for people to ensure they have the proper techniques needed to be great owners.

Adoption details
Adoption Process Before applying, please consider and finalise the following: real estate approval, fence repair if needed, outside shelter areas and look into the dog's breed dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed and health requirements such as cost of premium food, grooming. Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below.
This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applications may meet the dogs. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the dog at your home, or in a public place. If you have other animals they must be at the meet. If at the meet, you and the dog get along- you have the option of either taking the dog on the spot (in exchange for the full adoption fee paid upfront, and contract signed)- or placing the dog on hold for up to 2 days without any holding fee applicable. When adoption begins you will be provided with 7 days' worth of food for the dog, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet carefully and slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold dogs for 3 days or longer, without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the dog, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters and so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit non refundable to avoid time-wasters, especially when it comes to puppies under 5 months of age. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the dog. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you pay a $100 holding fee so we can hold the dog for a week- the day you collect the dog you will sign and adoption contract, and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
On commencement of the trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract, the vaccination cards, desexing certificate, microchip number and council registration, and will transfer the microchip into your name. So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
