About Amastus
This stunning boy has much more to offer than just his good looks! A very sweet, gentle & chilled puppy, Amastus is affectionate without being needy, and loves meeting new people.
This cutie loves to cuddle up and nap with his head resting on his carer, in the crook of an arm, or snuggling right by his carer's side. He makes an excellent foot warmer, but his speciality is grooming his carer to show his affection, and he takes this job very seriously at times.
Not one to go crazy with excitement, instead, this little guy will wiggle his butt off as soon as you show him attention. A well mannered young man most of the time, he has a very trusting nature and sits politely, looking to his carer for permission and assistance to get on and off the furniture.
Of course most puppies have a mischievous side, and this little guy is no exception, being caught on occasion in a coordinated effort with his doggy pal to redecorate the living room with a lovely array of garden foliage (it was an improvement of course). A curious boy, Amastus eagerly trots beside his carer or doggy pals to sticky beak into everything, and if left alone for longer periods, Amastus would love lots of stimuli and enrichment toys.
Content to do his own thing for part of the day, such as sunning himself or playing with a chew toy on his own, Amastus has a great mix of independence and wanting to be part of whatever is going on, frequently checking out what his carer or the other dogs are doing.
Amastus has had little training on a leash, but responds well to verbal cues and corrections, and is food motivated. He can sit, shake, and stay/wait for a good length of time for his meal. Being crate trained, Amastus can hold his bladder throughout the night. He is nearly toilet trained using a doggy door, with only a rare accident if he gets too excited.
He prefers to spend time with his carer when he's relaxing or sleepy, and save more of his energy for playing with other doggy friends, so an environment with another dog would be ideal. Alternatively, providing regular interactions with other dogs at parks and during walks, to improve his social skills further, would make him a happy boy.
This cheeky chap gets along with larger dogs and new dogs, and is always looking to make new friends. When interacting with other dogs he shows his confident and playful side, making weird and wonderful sounds while egging others on to play chase or tug with him.
Overall though, Amastus is a very quiet puppy, who isn't a barker. As a particularly gentle & placid pup, he has potential to be great with younger children, and would best suit a family environment where he sleeps indoors and is part of the family.
We are looking for a family that will ensure his training is continued, give him lots of love and time and he will need another dog for company or someone home most days.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
