About Dixie ~ 9mo Kelpie X girl (on trial 5/6/16)
Dixie is a lovable 9 month old Kelpie X. She is very affectionate and obedient.
Dixie is a very energetic dog and needs room to run outside. She loves walks and would like to find a forever home with someone active who will give her lots of exercise.
Dixie has come a long way in the short time she has been with us. Up until she was 8 months, she was put to being a working dog but didn’t do very well at that. Since being with a family who has shown a lot of love and another dog who has taught her the joys of playing, Dixie has become a playful and affectionate dog.
Dixie would love to have another dog for company in her new home and a nice yard to run around and play in. She has not met cats or pocket pets so we are unsure how she would go with them.
Dixie is an outside dog who likes to come in for some love when she can. The kids love having her inside and she has slept on the kids beds. We have a back tiled area where she usually sleeps with her foster sister, Maisie.
Dixie can be a little shy sometimes and very loud sounds can still make her cower; however, this is becoming less the more time she is in a loving environment. Dixie is a beautiful, clever girl who deserves a wonderful caring forever family.
For more information or to meet Dixie, please contact her foster carer Alethea on 0426 291 107 or email aletheabeattie@gmail.com. Dixie is in foster care in the Newcastle area, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Dixie's adoption fee is $400 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
