About Toby ~ 5yo Silky X Poodle boy (on trial 22/05/16)
Toby is a lovely 5 year old Silky Terrier X Poodle boy. The curly hair on his back suggests he is part Poodle though he has a Silky Terrier face and size.
Toby is very energetic and active and loves his walks – twice a day, if possible. He is very agile and likes to play with toys. One of his favourite games is trying to steal slippers or thongs – he can be a bit cheeky. While he is active during the day, he prefers to cuddle at night.
Toby is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside. He is toilet trained and well behaved inside. He is such a good boy that we have never even heard him growl.
Toby would be best suited to someone who is home a lot and where he could have a companion. He would be ok as an only dog if someone was home most of the time, otherwise he gets bored at home by himself. He would be happy to be part of a family with older kids and he gets on well with other dogs and cats.
Toby has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and beautiful.
For more information or to meet Toby, please contact his foster carer Anita on 0424 176 260 or email anita.waters@me.com. Toby is in foster care in Swansea, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Toby’s adoption fee is $450 and includes desexing, vaccination, treatment for fleas and worms, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
