Tara ~ 1yo Border Collie X Kelpie (trial 3/6/16)

Introducing Tara – a sweet 1 year old Border Collie X Kelpie. Tara’s lush and thick coat is mainly chocolate and white. What a beautiful young girl she is - eat your heart out Scarlett O’Hara!

Tara has a gentle soul, but can be very boisterous. She loves going for a walk and enjoys going for a car ride. Tara’s favourite games are tug of war and chasies and can she run!!! This girl loves a swim but not so much in a clam shell - she is more of a beach babe.

Tara would be best with someone who is home a lot and active. If not, she would definitely need a buddy to play with – she loves other dogs. She would be great with a family with older children (8 years and up). She hasn’t met cats so we are unsure how she would go with them. I would not recommend her with pocket pets.

Tara spends most of her time outside. She comes in of the evening, but sleeps outside. She is not allowed on the lounge or bed because we do not want to make it hard for her new family to get her out of this habit. I would not consider her completely toilet trained as the sliding door is usually left open.

Tara can sit, shake hands, drop, wait for food and I try to make her sit before opening the door and wait to be asked inside. She does pull on the lead a bit when walking as she’s just over enthusiastic. Tara would love some more ongoing training with her new family.
