About Anna on trial in her new home
Anna is on trial in her new home.
Are you looking for a young and affectionate female German shepherd dog and have owned this regal breed and understand their intelligence and strong will then perhaps Anna is for you. Anna is a 14 month old desexed female German Shepherd currently in our care.
Anna is in need of a confident and experienced shepherd owner as she is a loving and affectionate dog but she also has a will and a mind of her own and she will test you out. Being a young dog who has not been socialised at that critical time when a puppyy, Anna shows lead reactivity and will need further socialisation to enable her to understand that other dogs are good fun to be around.
Anna is voice responsive, fully house trained and is also happy being inside with her human pack and has now become crate trained. She will whine if left outside all day alone so best she is given inclusion in the home and she will reward you with her total love and affection.
She is social with her fellow rescue dogs in our foster care home but when placed on lead and walked in areas where she has contact with other dogs in a suburban area she does show reactivity so she will definitely need further lead training so we would suggest a home where her new family will enrol her in Dog Obedience classes.
She has not been tested with cats or pockets pets at this stage.
Anna is also at that stage of adolescence where she is mouthy and still jumps up and wants attention so she does need a home where she is given firm boundaries, continuity and plenty of exercise, walking and games to stimulate this young and active shepherd. So we are suggesting a home with mature aged couple or a home with young adults due to her size and her exuberance and need to jump up.
Anna is a sweet natured dog who loves people and wants to hang out with them all day. Lies by your side, follows you around, and bonds quickly. During the day she'd would lie by your chair or lounge with no need for her to wonder and she would be totally relaxed.
She has shown no adverse sign that she is interested at all in babies, toddlers, or little kids or any other humans in any way other than in a positive way. We have found strangers have come up to pet her and she's completely OK with that.
She is unfazed by loud traffic noises, buses zooming past, honking, smoke alarms going off, the doorbell ringing, the vacuum cleaner, etc. Not a worry for her at all. No reaction. so she is not a guard dog.
She's not much of a barker even when the postman came to deliver a parcel - she did not react.
She likes sticking her head out of the window of the car and looking around and travels well in a vehicle.
She is smart and learns commands easily when she's calm and not distracted. Anna will tell you when she needs to go outside to toilet.
.
Anna likes her crate for sleeping in at night. She is covered and put to bed in her crate and is happy as Larry as long as she is inside with you.
.
Anna doesn't seem keen on chewing things like shoes, furniture etc.but she goes enjoy chewy hides and bones.
For more information on Anna please contact Linda.
Medical notes
Ann comes desexed, vaccinated C5 on heart worm prevention and microchipped. She comes with her own doona bed and will be professionally groomed prior to going to her forever home.
