Scarlett - Special Needs

Scarlett is a gorgeous girl with special needs , born deaf she is best suited to a dog savvy home that is looking for an addition to their own pack . Scarlett has been learning sign language since she was 6 wks and can already sit ,stay drop and come (when she's not being distracted) , she is very well behaved and although she loves attention and is great with kids she does need the companionship with another dog to help her to continue to grow confident and independent . Scarlett will also need to be with someone that has the time to continue her training so a busy family may not be best suited for this reason.
Although she will grow into a medium - large dog Wally's rescue expects all their adopted dogs to be inside/outside dogs with regular socialization however there are a few important requirements that need consideration to ensure your home is right for her , because of her deafness she can not hear dogs growl so this does leave her vulnerable to attack whether it be at home with your own dog or at a dog park with others , there will be no recall at a park or beach so she will need to stay on a leash for exercise unless in a safe area.
