About Jackson
Dear old Jackson is a special old boy. He found himself alone in a scary shelter in his twilight years and it was very stressful for him. The shelter called us and said they had a beautiful old boy needing to go into foster care urgently, and of course we were happy to welcome him into the CRQ family.
Jackson's foster mum describes him as "a lovely old Gentleman". Although he is almost completely blind, he copes really well.
Jackson is being fostered on an acreage property with four other dogs, and he gets along with everyone. He loves to plod around and explore at a slow pace. Incredibly, Jackson even likes to go for walks!
Jackson just loves to sit on your lap, and he follows his humans around where-ever they go. He would be ideal for an older couple or person who is around lots to keep him company and enjoy a quiet lifestyle. Grandchildren will never be a problem because Jackson is as gentle as they come, so he would be fine around children who came to visit.
Jackson can be a little timid around strangers, but his gentle nature never fails. He is a real sweetheart and just wants to be loved!
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Jackson is a sweet old fellow, and despite his age, his blood tests came back very healthy. He does have a lot of arthritis and gets some old-man aches and pains that need to be managed by a gentle lifestyle and pain relief when he needs it.
Jackson has very little vision, but it doesn't slow him down. He is completely blind in one eye, and partially blind in the other.
