About Eden
Dear little Eden is such a beautiful girl. She is a lovely Maltese x Shih Tzu and she wins friends where-ever she goes. Eden loves everyone and everything - she is great with kids and great with other dogs and cats!
Eden is in foster care with a household of other dogs and she gets along with them very well. When she first joined her foster family, she was unsure about playing with the rest of the dogs in the household, but now that she's got the hang of it she is regularly instigating play and coming out of her shell. Eden likes to chase a ball, but she's not so keen on bringing it back again.
Eden would love to go to a home where she has a playmate. She is happy to snuggle up on the couch with her foster siblings, and is always happy to share the love around! She likes to eat dry food rather then wet, and she had no idea what to do with a raw chicken wing that her foster mum gave her, but we are sure she'll learn how yummy they are before too long!
Eden's foster carer does not have cats so we are unsure how she would go in a household with cats, however she is a sweet and gentle girl so we can not imagine that she would be aggressive towards any new feline friends.
Eden is being toilet trained in foster care - in her previous home she was outside all the time, so she is still getting the hang of being inside with the family. She can be an escape artist so she definitely needs secure fencing and a household that will let her inside to be part of the family.
Eden is new to the CRQ family and won't be ready for adoption for a few more weeks.
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Little Eden was born with only one eye but it doesn't slow her down at all.
Adoption details
The first step to adopting a dog from us is to fill out an expression of interest form.
We encourage you to provide as much detail as possible about your family and your home as this helps us make sure we match you with the most suitable dog.
This form can be found at the following address: http://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/Kczrs885x4lq3N9u4mQhca
Please note: we do not organise any meet and greet without a completed expression of interest form.
Our adoption process involves:
1) Completing online application form
2) Arranging a meet and greet with the dogs foster carer, after which we ask you to take 24 hours to make a decision about whether you want to adopt this dog
3) A brief home visit and yard check from one of our volunteers
4) Adoption trial spanning four weeks.
We ask that you pay the dogs adoption fee at the beginning of the adoption trial, however this will be refunded if for any reason the dog is not working out in your home within the four week period. We offer a four week adoption trial to make sure that you have plenty of time for your new dog to settle into your home and so we can offer you full support during this period and beyond.
We offer a free health check with our vets at Indooroopilly, Browns Plains, Jindalee or Chermside vet clinic after you’ve adopted your dog and every dog in our care is up to date with all vet work.
We have many dogs that are in foster care and are not yet ready to be listed for a variety of reasons. If you have a good idea of what you are looking for in your new dog please email us at chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com and let us help you match a dog to your needs.
