About Misty
Hi everyone, this is my story... my name's Misty. I was bought into care as a surrender a while ago due to my elderly owner going into a home.
I had a bit of a rough start and wouldn't leave my carry case that was inside a crate and I was barely eating. When I did it was basically wherever I was at the time. The decision was made to move me to a quieter house where there weren't many cats or dogs, in which I have flourished!
When I first came into care you couldn't touch or get near me as I would growl hiss and lash out, we are not entirely sure what caused me to behave like this and some thought it was depression. When I was moved I still behaved like this so I was given free range of an entire spare room and left to my own devices in hopes I would eventually come better with minimal disruptions. It did take a while but eventually I was able to be handled enough for a bath as I was riddled with fleas.
After the flea treatment I became a completely different cat, I came out to eat (my favourite is canned food), and week by week I have become more friendly and now sleep on my carers bed. I spend majority of the day hanging about in the lounge watching the world go by in my mum's front window, best vantage point! Watching the goings on out the front and in the afternoon I get the full sun to sun myself in.
I am OK with children, however would probably prefer a house without as they can be a bit in-my-face and I may get grumpy with them. I also dislike other cats, which is interesting living with another! So a home where I'm the only cat would be the best.
I also tolerate dogs, I'm not really a fan but I tolerate them more than cats as long as they leave me alone, so possibly a home with no other pets.
Somewhere where I'm given time to settle, which may take a little while, and an understanding patient person.
I'm not a lap cat so far, and I don't enjoy being picked up, but I do love to rub myself around you legs at dinner time and I enjoy a pat especially around my ears! I do so love to sit on the back of the couch and watch the fish tank too!
If you think that you might enjoy having a companion that will talk back, sleep on the end of your bed and stand guard watching out your front windows then I'm the cat for you!
Please note that I am an indoor cat.
Please contact Larissa; she is busy with work and doesn't have time to answer calls, but texts are easy for her.
