About Rosie
Meet Rosie a beautiful five year old well bred German Shepherd who is currently in care at Windsor.
Rosie has had a rough start to her life and has had several litters. It appears she has also spent time on a chain or in a cage or crate as her front teeth are worn. However, she has no problem eating and this often occurs when a dog has been left tethered for long periods they will chew the wire. However, we cannot fault this beautiful girl she is a real sweetheart and is clamoring for human company.
We don’t think she was abused but we do think she wasn’t provided with the basic flea control as her coat condition is poor and we are feeding her good quality food and supplements to improve her coat condition. She is currently in care with several rescue German Shepherds and is social and friendly. She has displayed no aggression to any of the dogs living with her.
We havent tested her with cats but she is a gentle and calm dog and has displayed no real prey drive as she is living on a farm with stock, ponies and native wildlife. We have introduced her to the resident grandchildren and she has been very good around them but due to her size we would recommend children over ten years of age.
So Rosie would suit a family with older children or perhaps an older couple. She loves the car and nothing seems to phase her. Rosie will need further obedience as she is leaning to heal on lead and with continued training she will walk calmly by your side.
We would love Rosie to go to a home where she will be the centre of attention because up to now she has been a puppy machine in some ones back yard. She must be a house dog and she must be included in any family activities where practicable.
We would prefer that Rosie not be left in the back yard all day while everyone works and because she has never had a family to bond with she is not guard dog material. It would stress her too much to be expected to look after the property while everyone works or is out all day. She deserves the best home and she will reward her new family tenfold with love and affection.
Please call Jo if you are interested in this lovely funny girl. Jo can be contacted via email on jo@omatel.com or her landline is 9476 2782.
Medical notes
Rosie is desexed, vaccinated C5 on heart worm prevention and is microchipped. She has been flea treated and wormed and will be professionally groomed prior to going to her forever home.
