About Donnie
DONNIE IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR INTERSTATE ADOPTION; any interstate applications will be ignored!
Oh Donnie
What to say about these cheeky boy.
Donnie is a 4.5 year old purebred Boston terrier male who has a beautiful slick black and white coat and also a 3/4 stumped tail that he was born with. Donnie is social with other dogs; big and small and is tolerant of cats but we would recommend he isn't rehomed with these.
Since being in foster care, he has finally learnt how to be a dog and has been taught boundaries and rules to make sure he becomes and stay a good doggie citizen when adopted. He is currently being crate trained and is toilet trained as well, he seems to enjoy the comfort and boundary of the crate as well. He is off and on leash trained and can walk on a perfect heel for either. He knows how to sit, stay and lie down as well and has perfect recall too.
This boy does need a specific home though as he does have some traits common to the breed that we need an adopter to understand before taking him on.
It is essential that his new home;
- allow him to have access to the indoors as his breed is known for not coping well with the cold and hot climate.
- a home that continues his crate training as he finds comfort in this and he also likes a set routine so eating and sleeping in this seems to be ideal for him.
- have 6ft fencing If in a suburban household. MUST NOT be wire; colourbond or wooden only. Donnie is suitable for a rural property as well.
- Boston terrier experience is required as we want someone who understands and has experienced the breed and their traits before.
- a house with no kids under the age of 10. He isn't aggressive with them but he isn't comfortable with young children who can grab and squash him.
We would love to find a home for Donnie that is either one with another friendly and social dog or with him as an only dog. A home that can continue his obedience training and hopefully continue his already established crate training skills. And a home that can keep his kind and body stimulated and exhausted as he can be quite high energy if need be.
Medical notes
Donnie comes desexed, vaccinated for the next year, de wormed, de flead, microchipped, life time registered and also has received a yearly pro heart injection.
