About Gizmo
Gizmo is a good looking young man with an easy going, friendly personality. He is great with other dogs. His approach to new dog friends and new human friends is, "g'day mate, how 'ya going," with a big smile on his face.
Gizmo is black all over with a splash of white on his chest and two delightful black and white spotted booties on his front toes.
He has very long legs for a Border Collie cross and is large (or at least tall) for the breed and quite strong. He has spent most of his life to date living on a farm and then with a family of four children aged from about 5 years up. He was terrific with the kids. He would happily roll around on this back whilst a 5 year old and 7 year old hugged him and climbed over him.
However, cats are a whole different matter. Gizmo has had no exposure to cats previously. He is fascinated by them, barks at them and will seek every opportunity he can to chase them mercilessly. He could be trained to not chase cats but the cats involved would not be very impressed, at least in the short term.
He walks reasonably well on the lead but will pull very strongly when he sees another dog that he wants to play with.
His best party trick is jumping high into the air to catch the water from the hose. He loves it and will do it over and over and over, for as long as his humans can bear it. Turn on the hose and let the water shoot up into the air. Off he goes, higher and higher, twisting and turning. It is great fun to watch.
Because Gizmo is such a great jumper he needs a new home which has good, high fences to keep him in.
Gizmo is smart and is responding well to obedience training. He is very well socialised with other dogs and with people. He also travels well in the car.
He is a great family dog. He would also be a great companion for a couple or single person looking for a mate to go walking or running with.
Gizmo is located in WAGGA WAGGA, a five-hour drive from Sydney or Melbourne.
This pet will come microchipped, but council registration - if required in your state or territory - is not included in the adoption fee.
