About Nessie
We are thrilled to announce that little Nessie is out ON TRIAL!!!
Yes, our little Nessy is still looking for her "right" home. We have had many enquiries on her but unfortunately we have not been entirely satisfied that any of them were right for her.
Nessy is an unusual little dog and It takes a while for her to feel confident around people. She had not enjoyed a happy life up until she was surrendered from a farm north of Port Macquarie.
Nessy had very little contact with people and only felt confident when she had her pup Boris close by. After weeks of slowly coaxing her out into the big wide world she is finally becoming more relaxed, but it is still a work in progress. She is very quiet and is not a barker. She does not like going for a walk - becomes terribly scared once she gets out the front gate and will not walk freely - she prefers the security of the yard and house. If you want a dog that will run along the beach with you and enjoy walks around the block, then Nessy is NOT the dog for you!
Nessy will benefit from another dog to keep her company and will not be adopted to anyone who works full time. She will require secure colour bond fencing and locked gates as she is an escape artist. She would need to be walked only in the yard and on a lead for 2 weeks or so until she felt comfortable in her new surroundings.
She has a poodle type coat that will require regular clipping, but on the plus side, it does not shed.
Nessy has the sweetest nature, not a mean bone in her body. She is still not fully house-trained, but is learning to go outside with the other dogs to toilet. She does not like loud noises and is absolutely TERRIFIED in stormy weather (even without thunder).
Nessy will only be re-homed in the Port Macquarie area so please do not apply for her if you live out of the area.
If you would like more information on the gorgeous Nessy, please phone Wendy on (02) 6584 7027.

.......................
Midcoast Dog Rescue Inc. is trying to expand its foster carer network so that we can help more dogs in need. This is a very rewarding experience and suits a variety of people. Some people, for whatever reason, are unable to make a permanent commitment to a dog, a commitment which can last for up to 15 years. Others use the fostering experience as an interim measure before committing to permanently owning a dog. If you think you could be interested in becoming a foster carer, either on a long-term or a short-term basis, and would like more information please contact Nigel on 6584 4992 or Wendy on 6584 7027.
