About Scotty ** On Trial **
Meet Scotty, a Miniature Dachshund, 5 year old gentlemen. Scotty was a private surrender to Wally's Doggie Rescue, after his original owner was placed into a nursing home.
Scotty is in foster care in a family environment with older children, other dogs and cats. We have found that Scotty is ok with kittens but not a fan of adult cats. So best to go to a cat FREE home.
Scotty is doggie social and would benefit from a small doggie friend.
Scotty walks well on a lead, appears to be inside toilet trained. Scotty is accustomed to sleeping in his foster families bed, under the blanket.
A breed specific savy family would be ideal or retired foke, who are aware of the health consideration with Dachshunds. Spinal problems, can be common due to the elongated nature of the body, the spine is prone to injury. Disc rupture, often leading to paralysis, is a common problem in Dachshunds. Stairs and jumping on and off furniture must be avoided. Dachshunds can also be prone to skin ailments such as bald patches and lack of pigmentation.
PLEASE READ THE ADOPTION PROCESS CAREFULLY AND TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF, AS PER OUTLINED QUESTIONS. This will ensure a quicker response to your email.

When enquiring about Scotty, please give us some indication of the type of home that he would have with you. We are interested in things such as other animals (past and present), children who may have contact with the dog, whether you own or rent your home (Permission from your landlord a MUST), what opportunities for socialisation outside the home your dog would have, how much you/someone is home and most importantly, why you feel this dog may be suitable for you.
Wally's Doggie Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family.
Wyong Dog Training Club will provide 3 free dog training sessions http://wyongdogtrainingclub.org.au/ . So please be sure to utilise this awesome gift which will benefit both you and Scotty.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
