Cuinn~ Welsh Corgi puppy (On Trial 30/4/16)

Cuinn is a stunning 12 week old male Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy.

He is a playful puppy and loves cuddles from his humans and currently lives with 4 other dogs of all ages and sizes. You will find him playing happily with his doggy friends showing his mischievous personality - chasing, nipping and barking, yet he is also happy to play with his toys. Yes, corgis can be known for their nipping and barking as they come from a herding working dog breed, so we recommend a home without small children. Aside from that, because he seeks company you will find him laying at your feet during down time.

Cuinn requires companionship and moderate exercise so he would suit another playmate and someone home often as he loves to follow you wherever you go. He will need to be allowed to come indoors as part of the family, yet keep in mind corgis do shed heavily. If you are after a low shedding dog Cuinn is not for you.

Toilet training is currently under way and he is a smart boy utilising puppy pads, yet loves praise when taken outdoors for toileting. This will need ongoing training in his new home, but he is learning quickly.

Here's a little you should know about the Pembroke Welsh Corgi:
Corgis are spirited and athletic, yet steady and dependable.
Herding, obedience, agility or chasing balls are enjoyable outlets for their enthusiasm.
They require companionship and moderate exercise. Be prepared to provide enough stimulation to fulfill their work drive as corgis can become destructive if bored.
Corgis are usually polite with guests, yet shy with strangers.
Like most herding breeds, Pembroke Welsh Corgis prefer their flock (family members and other family pets) to be together. They can be territorial towards stray dogs and cats they do not know.
Barking and nipping can become a problem when chasing things that move like children, joggers, other animals, bikes and cars. This is a common corgi temperament.

Due to this Cuinn would respond well to puppy school and obedience training as he grows.

As Cuinn is yet to be desexed, he is only available for adoption locally to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens. He will need to be returned to one of our vets for desexing around 4 to 5 months of age.
