About Rocky ~ Chihuahua x Corgi x Dach(Trial 30/4/16)
Introducing Rocky, 8 year old, male Chihuahua x Corgi x Dachshund. He weighs about 6kg and is very cute with short little legs and long round body. Rocky is the kindest, sweetest little boy and everyone that meets him falls in love with him. He has the biggest brown eyes that make you melt when he looks adoringly at you. Rocky is a joy to foster but needs his own family to love him unconditionally.
Rocky’s favourite things are food, walks, cuddles and tummy rubs. He loves all food, including all meats, fresh bones, cheese and treats. If there is another dog in the house it is best to feed Rocky separately, as he eats very fast and may over indulge.
Rocky would suit an older person or couple that would love a lap dog at night, and he would be your little shadow during the day. He is also well behaved when left alone, but he really enjoys his human’s company. Rocky would be good as an only dog, or ideally with another mature dog as he seems to really enjoy having the company of other small dogs.
He loves his daily walks so very much, and he is very good on a lead walking solo or in a group. He currently goes for walks with his 2 little foster sisters and they all walk beautifully together. Rocky loves car rides and enjoys going on outings with his foster family.
Rocky is good with cats! He is untested with pocket pets at this stage. Rocky is very gentle in everything he does. He is fine with children and seems quite at ease in their company. He is easy to bathe.
Rocky is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home and after dark and must sleep inside. He currently sleeps on his own bed on the floor next to orus and doesn’t move all night. He is toilet-trained and has had no accidents inside. He isn't a digger, or a chewer and he doesn’t try to escape at all, in fact he is a very loyal boy – he just wants his own family to love him unconditionally. He is quiet most of the time, only barking to alert you to a visitor, or if someone walks past his yard as he likes protecting his yard.
Rocky is in very good health. He recently had a dental check-up, and has lovely clean teeth. He is an absolute delight in every way!

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
