About Joey
Joey is going to make someone an absolutely amazing companion. How someone could dump him at a petrol station, we have no idea. This boy is the literal creation of a perfect dog. He adores people and sits and smiles at you for a cuddle and pat. He adores all dogs, and wags his bottom so hard when he meets some and he's always down for a game of tag and bitey face. He is perfect on and off leash. Travels in the car well. Crate and toilet trained. Minimal barker unless there is someone at the door. Happy to share food and toys with others and most of all, he is just a pleasure to be around. Everyone who meets him falls in love with this stunning boy who adores everyone and smiles from ear to ear when greeted. And best of all, he has the smartest nature and even picked up his name within a night.
He would do best in a home with another dog as he really does enjoy their company and we think we might get lonely on his own. But for the right applicant, an only dog household may be approved. A home that can take him out for adventures and continue his training and socialisation is important and a home on acreage would be ideal but isn't a must.
Secure and safe fencing is a must though, at least 5ft if on a suburban block but properties, paddock fencing and proper boundary training is a must.
He has met some cats whilst in foster care and wasn't overly fussed. Wasn't quite sure what they were but wasn't curious or focused at all. So with the right integration he would be suitable for a household with felines. He hasn't met any kids since being in foster care but he does have a gentle nature. So we think he would do fine with a household with young kids as long as parents are happy to do the training to make sure everyone is safe.
Joey currently chooses where he sleeps, he has slept outdoors of a night time or indoors and he really didn't favour either. So he could go to either set up in his new home. Since being in foster care, Joey has been learning both his on and off leash skills, basic obedience, toilet and crate training and also his recall, in which typical to his breeds he is excelling at.
Joey isn't an overly fussy dog, he adores other animals and absolutely adores people. He is loyal and focused to please and is calm and active all in one package. He is currently being fostered in the hunter region near Gresford NSW
