About Ivy
Ivy is a silly and people-loving BIG pup! She currently weighs 35 kg and hasn't grown into her paws yet, she's rather uncoordinated and clumsy and walks into furniture and people. For this reason, she needs a home without small children who would be bowled over.
This dog loves water as much as any dog we've ever seen! She splashes in a clamshell pool, paddles in the water bucket, plays in the garden hose, and runs in the sprinklers. She would love a home on acreage with a dam to swim in!
Ivy is housetrained to use a flap door and she always takes herself outside to toilet. Other than her clumsiness and a tendency to bench-surf for snacks, she likes to be allowed indoors and she thinks she's a lap dog.
Ivy gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home and enjoys playing chasey and wrestling. Size doesn't matter to her - her best friend is a wee dog who weighs only 5kg!
Ivy is a very strong dog and she's quite excitable and bouncy on lead, so we recommend obedience classes for her.
Ivy is located in WAGGA WAGGA, a five-hour drive from Sydney or Melbourne. Adopter will need to collect her in person, due to her size.
This pet will come microchipped, but council registration - if required in your state or territory - is not included in the adoption fee.
Adoption details
Our goal is to match pets' personalities and exercise/training requirements with people whose lifestyle they are best suited to. This reduces the chances of the pet winding up in a pound again. Please don't feel offended by our adoption process, it is for everyone's and every animal's benefit:
1. Submit application for adoption (obtain at Best Friends Pet Rescue website).
2. Homechecks are conducted on short-listed approved applicant(s).
3. Best match selected according to the pet's personality and needs.
